Container transport for heavy parts model for innovation

by Christopher Jay An example of practical industrial innovation for transport of awkwardly-shaped parts and fabrications for heavy industry and resources projects should cut transport costs and enhance handling convenience for an extended range of Australian heavy processing activity, in line with Government efforts to encourage industrial invention activity.

CEO Sleepout – A Thank You From Shaun

Just a quick note to thank you all for your very generous donations for the CEO Sleepout Program in Canberra – which raised over $330,000.

The activity was run very well by St. Vinnies and ADFA. When I arrived the instructions were “go and find somewhere dry to sleep, not in the buildings”. Of course Canberra turned out some low degrees for the occasion – but it could have been worse – the ‘very hot chilli kebab’ lunch strategy worked well. All in all a very humbling experience, particularly when considering the disturbing statistic that over 100,000 people sleep on the street every night in Australia (a full MCG). My biggest agenda in doing this activity is to increase awareness that over 3000 ADF Veterans are homeless and in a state of despair. In my view a completely unacceptable dynamic – as a Nation we owe these people better.

Thank you again for your generosity

Warm (now) Regards
Shaun

SBI managing director to take part in Vinnies CEO Sleepout

On Thursday 18 June 2015 Sea Box International’s managing director Shaun Moore is joining some of Australia’s top business and community leaders sleeping rough on one of the coldest nights of the year.
Funds raised through the Vinnies CEO Sleepout will go towards helping the more than 100,000 Australian men, women and children who are experiencing homelessness to find the warmth, safety and dignity that they desperately deserve.

Vinnies supports people experiencing homelessness through a range of person centred and holistic support services including crisis accommodation, domestic violence support, access to budget counselling, lifeskills courses and legal advice, as well as assisting in planning for change and their return to independent living.

Your kind donation enables this good work to continue and makes a real difference to people’s lives.
It only takes a moment to help write a new chapter in the story of homelessness and help break the cycle. Please visit ceosleepout.org.au to find out more, search for Shaun Moore and make a donation.

Australian Army Rugby Old Boys return from Turkey

The Australian Army Rugby Old Boys (Leopards) have returned from a successful tour of Turkey, of which Sea Box International was proud to be a gold sponsor.

To mark the centenary of ANZAC, the Leopards travelled to Canakkale (Gallipoli) to play a friendly match against the oldest rugby club in Turkey, the Istanbul Ottomans. This game holds a special place within the Australian Army and Old Boys as the first ever game of rugby in Turkey was by Australian soldiers at Gallipoli. It has also been estimated that approximately 5,000 Australian rugby players ultimately went on active war service between 1914 and 1918. Read more about their historic tour.
