SBI delivers custom flatracks to NZ Defence Force

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), through Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), recently purchased 16 flatracks from Sea Box International following a successful Critical Design Review Engineering Phase of the Australian Defence Force’s Land 121 Project. The first prototype was delivered to the NZDF on 22 January 2015 and underwent rigorous Verification and Validation testing. SBI representatives Jason Mogg (Land 121 Project Manager) and Georg Eckardt (Land 121 ILS Manager) attended the testing and witnessed the flatrack meet and exceed the NZDF expectations.

The flatrack was laden with various loads to ensure it met the NZDF requirements. These loads included:

  • NATO Standard Pallets
  • Tricon Containers (1/3 size)
  • Double-Tricon Container (2/3 size)
  • ISO 1C Water Tanker to 10,000 kg
  • ISO 1C Container
  • 4WD Forklift

Each load passed its test with the NZDF representatives giving the go ahead for the manufacture of the 15 remaining flatracks to the same design.

SBI sponsors the Australian Army Rugby Old Boys

Sea Box International is proud to be a gold sponsor of the Australian Army Rugby Old Boys’ tour to Turkey in April 2015.

To mark the centenary of ANZAC, the Australian Army Rugby Old Boys (Leopards) will travel to Canakkale (Gallipoli) to play a friendly match against the oldest rugby club in Turkey, the Istanbul Ottomans. This game will hold a special place within the Australian Army and Old Boys as the first ever game of rugby in Turkey was by Australian soldiers at Gallipoli. It has also been estimated that approximately 5,000 Australian rugby players ultimately went on active war service between 1914 and 1918.
